It’s that time of the year again!. Operation Christmas Child’s Shoebox appeal has become a major feature in our Church calendar. We all look forward to packing our boxes full of gifts to brighten the face of a child at Christmas time. We collect empty boxes all year round which are then distributed to members, families and friends. Adults and children have fun packing the boxes.
We start packing in September and collection starts in November.
A representative from Samaritan’ Purse visits the church in November to collect the boxes with the help of some of our members who also visit the Samaritan’s Purse depot to help with lifting and packaging. The church makes a financial donation towards this worthy project. Last year we donated the sum of One Thousand pounds (£1000).
Why not join us to put a smile on a child’s face this year by taking part in our Shoe Box appeal. You can collect empty boxes from the church and if you have empty boxes please bring them along.
Thank you.
It’s Rhema time! Come and expound your knowledge of the Word of God in a relaxed environment. You will receive insight into God’s Word which will cause you to grow steadily in wisdom and understanding, putting you ahead in life.
It is well worth it!
See you there!
1 John 3:17 & 18 – If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity upon him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear Children, let us not love with words or tongue but with action and truth.
Every second Sunday of the month, we do a showcase of groceries and other items that will be of benefit to people within the church and outside. Please join us this Sunday and help yourself to the various items on offer.
We are called to be a blessing to one another. Please add extra items to your shopping bag this week and bring them to church to bless somebody. Blessing Connection is ‘Love in Action’
Every 6 months, we celebrate those who have joined us to fellowship at Living Word. We use this opportunity to get to know them even better and to appreciate their decision to be a part of the family here. It is also an opportunity for our pastor and his wife, along with the ministers and the contact team to chat with our new members and friends.
This happens immediately after the church service at about 12.45pm. Light refreshments will be provided. If you have visited us in the last six months, why not join us this Sunday. We will be honoured to see you and to get to know you better. And if you have any need or prayer request please feel free to let us know.
